This week I revised our lab's IRB submission, made small final edits to the n-back task presenter program, met with lab colleages to work out how I will be using machine learning on the data from my study, and began writing my final report for DREU.
This day I attended the lab-wide "what are we going to do this week" meeting. I received the assignments of addressing issues with our IRB submission and resubmitting it.
This day I attended a meeting with the colleagues working on the other ITS studies (the rule-learning and the mind wandering studies) and the two colleagues behind the data analysis pipeline to work out how we want to format our data exports and then analyze said data exports.
Afterward, I made revisions to our IRB submission forms where I could.
This day I redid the revisions I made to our IRB submission forms because the board requires all changes to be tracked in-file, which had not been done. If the IRB does not approve the study soon I will have no time to collect useable data from actual participants.
Afterward, I adjusted the flags and timings of flags sent from the n-back presenter program to our DAQ.
Afterward, I began work on the final report for my research experience. I had prior sent an email to the DREU address asking for what was being asked for by the website when it listed "a final report of your research project". Once I received an answer I could get to work.
Afterward, I attended the weekly ITS meeting, where we discuss everything going on in the overarching ITS area. There I told my director what I had done today and that I was looking to do another pilot study later in the week, then let the meeting carry over to the rule-learning study.
This day I met with one of my colleagues behind data analysis to figure out what the data will look like when it is exported from the initial anaysis program. They recommended I meet with one of our grad students to discuss how I should approach the machine learning aspect of the data analysis for my study.
Afterward, I began work on my final report for DREU.
This day I met with the grad student recommended to me the day previous to discuss how I should approach the machine learning aspect of the data analysis for my study. We worked out some specific questions I need to ask from my lab director in regards to the data analysis for my study.
Afterward, I attended the lab-wide weekly "what did you do this week?" meeting. I presented on having revised our lab's submission to the IRB; on having completed, as was thought, the n-back task presenter program used in my study; and on beginning my final report for DREU.
